it's over...

...and now the real work begins. It is time to set aside the differences of partisan politics and get this country back into working order. If last night showed us anything, it's that the people of this country are ready for a change. I just hope that it's understood that not one person can change the landscape of a nation. It's going to take all of us getting our hands dirty and trying to repair the damage that has been done over the years. As easy as it is to lay blame on one person, it lies with us all. We have been lazy and expected that things would just be taken care of for us. We can't afford to do that anymore. I am inspired by this renewed sense of country that has swept over us. It doesn't matter anymore who you voted for...it only matters that you voted and that we all have a stake in what happens to us collectively. We govern with a flawed system, but one that is inherently brilliant and one that the founders knew would need the room to adjust with changing times. This is one of those times. Whether you like him or not, we have a new president and he can only be as good as those that support him and work with him. Dig in...it's time...
