:: birdies through an iPhone ::

...as most of you know it's been a trying month getting used to this whole deployment thing. Kind of sucks if I'm being honest. Right around the time that this was all starting, we noticed a bird had taken up residence in our wreath on the front door. We'd have to open the door gingerly to make sure she didn't fly into the house. Then came the nest...on top of the wreath!! (my favorite wreath, I might add) We peeked in and sure enough...6 little eggs. And so our birdie journey began. We started going through the garage instead of the front door...the only time we really opened the door was to check on them and take a quick picture. So I started documenting every day of their lives....afterall, that's what I do. I decided to just use my phone since it was way less intrusive and much easier to get a good angle. I started on the day they began to hatch and ended on their last day in the nest...amazingly, it only took 18 days to go from weird looking naked little muppets to full fledged birds. And all 6 of them made it so it quickly became a very crowded home for them! It was so wonderful to wake up every day and get to check on their progress. What a gift to watch these little lives begin. 18 days. Not a long time...but a much needed distraction from our every day trials. They flew the coop, so to speak, a few days ago and I think I see a few of them in the yard every now and then. That could just be wishful thinking, but I like to believe it's them.

I did take a couple of pics with my regular camera, but all of the ones in the timeline were with my iPhone
