...sing out loud, sing out strong...sing of good things, not bad...sing of happy not sad...
Does ANYONE besides me remember that song??? Probably not. Anyway...GOOD NEWS ALERT (and yes, some bragging) ~ my son is in a special choir at school consisting of 4th and 5th graders (he's in 5th) and they went down to Richmond, Virginia this past weekend to compete in a Music in the Parks competition. In previous years our school has entered the competition at Hershey Park in Pennsylvania, but our director felt that we had out grown that venue. So off to Virginia we go. Our kids did AMAZING! Not only did they win their age group, but they won the overall choral award which included all of the middle schools and high schools! They received the highest scores of anyone there. Not only that, but they also received the coveted Esprit de Corps award. Everyone at the competition is observed from the moment they walk off the buses until after the main awards ceremony...they are judged on their overall behavior toward each other, the judges, other groups, their directors, etc. Again, they won over all of the other age groups. I am SO proud of them for their accomplishments. They have worked so hard all year. It was kind of a bitter sweet moment though. It's the last performance for him in this choir...in elementary school for that matter. My baby is growing up.
So after the competitions the kids got to enjoy some down time at Kings Dominion amusement park. Here are a few pics from our long but wonderful day.

YAY!!! Congratulations to Lukey and the choir (sounds like it should be a TV show)...like Chico and the Bear...I probably just totally messed that up and got the name wrong, but you know what I mean.
Great pics on the rides! So cool.
Tell Lukey how proud I am of him and how handsome he is!
Love you!
